⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the stop every time we’re near Tacoma! Comfort food, fast service, and delicious side dishes. Our go-to Korean spot near Tacoma — amazing food, quick service, and great every time! My husband and I discovered Ho Soon Yi Restaurant a few years ago, and now every time we’re anywhere near Tacoma, we have to stop here — or order takeout if we can’t dine in. It’s truly one of our favorite places to eat! The food is absolutely delicious — pure comfort food for both of us. Every bite is full of flavor, and the side dishes are incredible. The service is super fast and friendly, and you can tell everything is made with care and authenticity. If you love Korean food (or want to fall in love with it), this is a must-try spot! Consistently great food, quick service, and warm hospitality — it’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back again and again.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick lunch, and this place did not disappoint! We ordered the kimchi fried rice, seafood soft tofu soup, and stir-fried bulgogi with rice cakes. The food was amazing and super comforting! We'll definitely be back!

The food here is good! The Seafood pancake was very good and generously sized. The short ribs were very very chewy. Kimchi stew was so flavorful and tasty. The meat in the Yukgaejang was dry and chewy, broth was good though. The banchan was a little disappointing and they're a bit stingy with it, when asked for more they said no more. Service was a let down as well as it was hard to get any servers attention. Place is very small and tight when the people behind me were leaving their table they bumped into more than once and same for my friend who sitting across from me.

Stop reading this review, hop in your car, and go experience Ho Soon Yi today. You will not regret it! The food? Amazing. The service? Top notch! My favorite dish? Definitely the Pork Bibimbap, but you can't go wrong with the rest of the menu. (The tteok-bokki is next level!)

Absolutely divine! The food was amazing from start to finish, and the staff delivered outstanding customer service from the moment we walked in until we left. Everything on the menu was fantastic, and it hit the spot for a Thursday afternoon craving. Highly recommend!

This place has been on my list if places to try for some time and it didn't disappoint. The menu is extensive, and has plenty of great korean dishes to pick from, all of which have generous serving sizes from what I saw. I got tofu soup with pork which was delicious and filling. Definitely hit the spot on a cold night. My partner got bibimbap, which was also excellent. I'm looking forward to trying them in the summer when they serve cold noodles as well.

Having lived in Korea for 8 years, I’ve had my fair share of Korean restaurants all over the world, so I’ve got a good sense of what to expect. This place does a lot of things right. The food is great, and the portion sizes are perfect, which is always a win. The service could definitely improve. I tried the 갈비 비빔밥 (Galbi Bibimbap), and it was excellent. The portion was just right, and the flavors were spot on — really satisfied my craving for a good bibimbap. I also had the 갈비탕 (Galbitang), which was hands down the best I’ve had in Washington so far. The broth was incredibly flavorful, and the meat was tender. I’ll definitely be coming back for that. However, the service was a bit of a letdown. The staff aren’t the friendliest, and it’s a struggle to get their attention. They don’t seem to check on the tables regularly, which can be frustrating. Every time I’ve been, they rush you as soon as you order, even when you're the only customer in the restaurant. I’ve been here twice, and both times the service was pretty much the same. I also tried the 냉면 (Naengmyeon), which wasn’t great. The noodles were cold, but the flavor was lacking, even though they gave a generous amount. Still, the food overall is solid, and I’d recommend it for the main dishes like the Galbi Bibimbap and Galbitang. If they could improve the service a bit, this place would be near perfect. But the food alone is worth the visit!
